“We’re thrilled to present ACS Nano Medicine as a home for nanomedicine researchers offering tremendous potential to advance clinical diagnosis and therapy,” said ACS Publications Senior Vice President and Chief Publishing Officer Sarah Tegen in a press release.

Xiaoyuan (Shawn) Chen will be the journal’s inaugural editor in chief. He is the founding editor of the journal Theranostics and has published over 1,100 papers. Chen is the past president of the Chinese American Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging, the Radiopharmaceutical Science Council, the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging, and the Chinese American Society of Nanomedicine and Nanobiotechnology.

“As the founding editor, I consider it both a privilege and a responsibility to guide ACS Nano Medicine towards becoming a leading platform for advancing nanomedicine research and further establishing ACS's leadership in this field,” said Chen in the press release. “ACS Nano Medicine will provide a platform for innovative ideas and various perspectives, and the broad scope of the journal will attract a diverse audience, including those in academia, industry, and clinical practice.”

The journal will begin accepting submissions in June and plans to publish its first issue in January 2026.
